Hi there. Do you have six and a half minutes? Well that is all the time that A-Trak needs to rattle your brains out of your skull. Here is his remix of Justice’s “New Lands.”
Peaking Lights are compiling a remix EP of songs off of their mostly (unjustly) ignored album 936. This is my favorite track so far. As if Peaking Lights weren’t dubby enough, they throw Main Attraktionz on top and I can almost see smoke rising from my speakers. Check out 936.fm for streaming tracks from the Wisconsin duo.

I am not a fan of Florence and the Machine and I don’t have a good reason. They aren’t a bad band I just don’t see the point of listening to her stuff when there are other artists who do the same style better (Neko Case, Adele, Lykke Li, etc, etc). That being said, Abel Tesfaye, better known as The Weeknd, has made me put aside my feelings for at least four minutes and forty seconds. He has washed singer Florence Welch’s usually abrasively over the top vocals in some really grimey sonics. It’s gorgeous and disgusting all at once.
