Jim Jones/Girl Talk

Well here is your wtf moment of the day.  On the newest episode of Selector, a show at Pitchfork where a rappers are invited to freestyle over tracks by indie artists, New York’s Jim Jones and mashup figurehead Girl Talk get together and create a brand new song.  Apparently, Jones liked it so much he is going to release it as a single, “Believe in Magic.”  Watch the video over here.

If you aren’t familiar with Girl Talk then get familiar.  He doesn’t just take a couple songs and cram them together.  His originals tend to be made up of a dozen or more tracks ranging from 80’s synth pop to gangster rap to classic rock.  Here are a couple of tracks from his 2010 release All Day available for free at Illegal Art.
