Listen to This: Arctic Monkeys – Don’t Sit Down, Cause I Moved Your Chair

The first real single off the Arctic Monkeys new album is available for your listening pleasure.  The album Suck It and See (not sure if this is a great title or a terrible one) will be out in June and is being produced by James Ford, of Simian Mobile Disco.  The Monkeys continue the journey into decidedly heavier and headier territory that began on the Josh Homme helmed Humbug a few years ago.  They seem to have replaced their frenetic, choppy guitars with a more alt-metal chugging style.  I’m all for maturation and musical growth, but I also have no desire to hear Alex Turner lyrics over the top of a Soundgarden track.

Here is “Fake Tales of San Francisco” from their debut for a little comparison.
